This extra-special bacon is what Grandbaby Cakes' Jocelyn Delk Adams serves on Sundays as a dinner side. But it's delicious at brunch, as part of an upgraded BLT, or wherever you'd want to have bacon (which, for us, is everywhere!).

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 12 bacon slices

Directions

    1. Step 1Preheat oven to 325°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Combine brown sugar and cayenne in a bowl. Working with one piece at a time, dip bacon in sugar mixture, coating both sides, and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake, until crispy, 14 to 16 minutes. Serve immediately.

Tip: “For crispier bacon, set an oven-safe cooling rack on top of a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and layer the bacon on top. Lifting the bacon up lets it cook from every side and get super-crispy!” —Jocelyn Delk Adams
