When they're in season, fresh figs are pretty darned good all by themselves, but it doesn't take much to make them over-the-top irresistible. Some good chocolate, a little flaky salt, and you've got a treat that'll make people "ooh" with delight.

Ingredients

  • 12 fresh figs, halved
  • 3 1/2 oz. dark chocolate (preferably 75%), chopped and melted
  • Flaky sea salt

Directions

    1. Step 1Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Working one at a time, dip figs in chocolate and place on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with sea salt. Let stand until chocolate is firm, at least 25 minutes. Serve immediately or refrigerate up to 3 days.

Tip: Chocolate can be melted in the microwave (stirring every 30 seconds) or in a heat-proof bowl set over a small pan of boiling water on the stove.
