Given Luke Grimes’s role as one of the most beloved cowboys on current television, not to mention his laid-back, down-to-earth lifestyle in Montana, you might think he met his wife, Bianca Rodrigues Grimes, at the local watering hole or, at the very least, somewhere in person. In reality, he has an app to thank for welcoming the Brazilian model and mother of his child into his life.
On March 6, the Yellowstone and Marshals star sat down with Drew Barrymore on The Drew Barrymore Show to discuss his life and career. During the chat, Luke dropped a truth bomb many weren’t expecting.
“I met my wife on a dating app,” Luke told Drew. “I know that’s crazy. I never thought I’d be on a dating app to begin with.”
After seeing what a good time his friend was having on the apps, Luke decided to join. Little did he know, one date in, he’d find the love of his life.
“I was going through, sort of a, you know, one of those times in life where I was just like, ‘I’m lonely; I just want to meet some people’... My wife was my first date, and we were married in four months,” he told Drew.
As unbelievable as the one-and-done concept is even to him, Luke can’t help but be grateful for what his short-lived stint on a dating app brought into his life. “I didn’t think there was any chance, but honestly, since meeting her, everything else in my life has sort of right-sized,” Luke shared with Drew and the audience. “I found the thing that I didn’t know [that] I was looking for. And now everything else is just sort of a cherry on top.”
It goes without saying, Drew, the audience, and everyone who’s seen the clip on social media are swooning over Luke’s big reveal, and sharing their own successful dating app stories.
“I mean, if I met him on a dating app, I’d marry him too!! I mean, look at him! He's gorgeous, multi-talented, and he has a beautiful soul. Lucky girl,” one Instagrammer commented. “You’ll find love in the most unexpected places,” someone else wrote. “Brandon Sklenar (Spencer Dutton) met his girlfriend on a dating app, too,” another Instagrammer exclaimed.
