The official emblem and souvenirs for The Queen's Platinum Jubilee 2022 have been revealed.

Designed by 19-year-old graphic design student Edward Roberts from Nottinghamshire, the emblem was selected as the winning entry of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Emblem Competition for young people aged 13-25, run in conjunction with the V&A Museum.

Featuring a purple and platinum design, the emblem incorporates the number 70, has a stylised St Edward's Crown on the front, and sits on a round purple background (Pantone 3515 C) signifying a royal seal. The words have been printed in the elegant font Perpetua, meaning forever, to acknowledge the first British Monarch to ever mark 70 years on the throne.

More Jubilee news:

"I wasn't expecting to win the competition. When I was told I had made it into the top 100 entries, I felt that was an achievement on its own. It feels such an honour to have won it," Edward told the University of Leeds.

"Art and design have always been passions of mine. From completing an A-level in art to then going on to university to study graphic design, I try to use both disciplines in my work as much as possible."

The winning design was chosen by a panel of visual artists, design professionals, and experts from the V&A, the Royal College of Art, the Design Museum. Edward's winning emblem, along with nine other shortlisted emblem design entries, will be displayed at the V&A in June 2022.
