The small village of Bamburgh in Northumberland has been revealed as the UK's favourite seaside town in Which?'s annual travel report.

Loved for its untouched shores and historical castle, it's no surprise the picture-perfect coastal town topped the list. It was rated as the overall winner for its quality of food, beach, seafront, peacefulness and value for money (the average hotel here costs £92 per night).

For the study, Which? surveyed over 3,000 visitors, asking them about their most recent UK beach trips. Other locations also loved by tourists include Devon, Cornwall, Suffolk and Fife in Scotland.

It's also great news for Wales, as four Welsh seaside towns made the top 20. From Italian Riviera-inspired Portmeirion to Llandudno and breathtaking beaches in Pembrokeshire, it shows that Wales is also one of the UK's favourite holiday spots.

Coming in at the bottom of the list is Clacton-on-Sea in Essex, followed by Bognor Regis in West Sussex and Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset. Visitors felt these destinations were overpriced, too loud and didn't provide enough attractions.
