Dream job alert! St Michael's Mount, off the coast of Cornwall, is looking for a live-in castle officer to "become a pivotal part of island life" — and there's still time to apply.

The castle, which dates back to 1135, is situated 500 yards off the coast and reached only by boat. If you're looking for a fresh start away from the bustle of everyday life, then this could be just the role for you.

Tempted? The team are looking for someone to occupy the castle for five nights a week, supervise the Facilities Team across the island, be responsible for the practical operations within the castle, and help maintain the unique character of St Michael's Mount.

Posting on Instagram, St Michael's Mount wrote: "Come and work with us! We're looking for a Castle Officer to live and work in the castle at St Michael's Mount. This is a unique opportunity to become a pivotal part of island life at one of Cornwall's most iconic locations."

The famous castle, which is jointly run by the National Trust and St Aubyn Estates, needs someone discreet, compassionate and with tactful demeanour. As well as this, the job listing explains that the ideal person would be someone with a "motivation to be based in West Cornwall".

"The best thing about living here is having a sea view from every window," Duncan Murdoch, castle steward told the BBC."The worst thing is not being able to get a pizza delivered to your door."

Kate Cornwell, head of HR at St Aubyn Estates, added: "People who suffer from sea sickness need not apply - you'll need to love boats as it's the only way to get on and off the island at high tide."

If you're interested in applying, send your CV and cover letter to jobs@staubynestates.com or head over to their website. Good luck!
