Britain's biggest walking charity, The Ramblers, has launched a free video series to tackle a common barrier when out in the great outdoors: the fear of getting lost. With wintery weather on the horizon, they want to ensure everyone can confidently navigate their green spaces.

Made up of 17 short, accessible episodes, A Beginner's Guide to Navigation covers a range of practical advice, including map reading, compass basics and user-friendly tutorials from the experts. Whether you're venturing out to discover remote parts of the countryside or strolling through a new village, the videos cater to individuals with little to no prior experience, making them accessible to everyone.

It comes after a new study by The Ramblers found that 21% of people between 18 to 54 cited concerns about getting lost as a reason why they didn't go out walking.
