Storm Ophelia hits the UK and Ireland: In pictures
The aftermath of the storm has left parts of Ireland with no power
Storm Ophelia, a former Atlantic hurricane, landed in the UK and Ireland on Monday.
Ireland and Northern Ireland were most affected as three people were left dead, hundreds of thousands without power and all schools in the country were closed. In Ireland, gusts of wind reached almost 100 miles an hour.
The storm caused a dark, yellow sky and a red sun to swoop over parts of England as the storm brought dust from the Sahara dessert into the atmosphere.
The storm is expected to hit Scotland and Northern Ireland more severely on Tuesday.
