Give your table an autumn harvest feel with these sweet cereal bars.

Ingredients

  • 5 Tbsp. butter, plus more for pan
  • 2 (3-ounce) packets shredded wheat
  • 15 oz. marshmallows (about 1 1/2 bags)
  • 6 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 6 licorice laces

Directions

    1. Step 1Butter an 8-inch square pan. Crush shredded wheat in a bowl to make fine splinters.
    2. Step 2Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Add marshmallows and stir to melt completely. Stir in rice cereal. Use a rubber spatula to toss mixture and coat cereal completely.
    3. Step 3Turn mixture out into the prepared pan; use the spatula to flatten the mixture into the pan.
    4. Step 4Remove square of cereal treats from pan to cutting board. Cut in half horizontally, and then make 2 evenly spaced vertical cuts to form 6 rectangles.
    5. Step 5While the bars are still warm, pat the sides with crushed shredded wheat. Wrap each bale with licorice laces.
