Jelly Roll has been keeping a secret—and it’s not a surprise album drop.

On Sunday, March 1, the “Save Me” singer took to Instagram to inspire followers and fans to persevere past fear and to get up after getting knocked down. Instead of his typical sermon-style wisdom, however, he hit fans with a shocking reveal: He’s been living with a broken collarbone.

“Y’all, just took this thing out for the first time… since I flipped it,” he exclaimed to the camera while walking alongside his Can-Am Maverick R XRS UTV. “I broke my collarbone—I was so scared to get back on this thing, y’all. I just knew that if I didn’t get back on it sooner or later, I was just going to be more and more afraid of it.”

After thanking the local repairmen for their work on his off-road toy, Jelly went on to explain that he’d been nursing his broken collarbone at the Grammys. “Every time I hugged somebody that week, I wanted to scream—I just didn’t say it, but every time somebody squeezed me, dude, I thought I was going to cry,” he admitted.

At the end of the clip, after reflecting on how the accident happened—something he chalked up to user error entirely—Jelly shared his moral of the story: “Get back on that pony, baby,” he encouraged fans.

Fans were equally shocked, inspired, and amused by Jelly’s revelation. “Remember when you’re hugging someone, ya never know what they may be healing from,” one Instagrammer commented. “Jelly Rolledd,” someone else joked. “Worst day of my life lol,” Bunnie Xo chimed in.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better, Jelly!
