- Florida Georgia Line made a surprise appearance together during CRS in Nashville.
- The duo performed their last official show nearly four years ago, in 2022.
- Both Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard seemed thrilled to be reunited.
It’s the reunion no one saw coming, but it seems everyone needed. Beloved country music duo Florida Georgia Line reunited onstage last week, performing together for the first time since announcing an indefinite hiatus four years ago.
The event that brought them together again: A celebration of fellow superstar Jason Aldean’s 31 No. 1 hits, a couple of which FGL — made up of Brian Kelley (he’s Florida) and Tyler Hubbard (from Georgia) — wrote.
“It feels good to be here with my brother,” Tyler said from the stage during BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville’s party on Thursday (March 19). The late-night event happens annually during Country Music Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, but this particular celebration was a surprise party in Jason’s honor, and many of his A-list friends showed up to tip their hats, including Brian and Tyler.
Per video shared by Country Now, the one-time duo sang “You Make It Easy,” a co-write with Morgan Wallen and Jordan Schmidt that was a hit single for Jason in 2018. They’re also co-writers on his 2014 single “Burnin’ It Down.”
Tyler shared video of the reunion on his official social channels, too, calling it a “special night.” The comments section of that post is littered with blue check marks — celebrity friends who are giddy to see the two together again.
“Insane night bros,” “Rock and a Hard Place” hitmaker Bailey Zimmerman writes, while Ernest simply dropped two red heart emojis. Adds singer Chase Matthew: “History made.” There are also several comments about how a Florida Georgia Line reunion would be healing for fans.
Why Did Florida Georgia Line Break Up?
They called it a break, actually. Rumors have circulated for years that the reason behind Florida Georgia Line’s 2022 split was the guys’ adverse political stances, but Tyler and Brian have never fully detailed what knocked them off the tracks professionally. They played their last show together in 2022 and told People that same year that “taking a break” was the proper term for their hiatus, as opposed to “breaking up.” But no grand reunion was ever announced, and both sought solo careers over the years.
In late 2025, Tyler chatted with the Human School Podcast about creating an identity for himself outside of FGL and even touched on his relationship with Brian these days. “I miss the guy I was partners with for 10 years,” he said. “I miss my old roommate, my best man at my wedding, and if nothing else, we should have a relationship. It doesn't have to be what it was, and it doesn't have to equal FGL doing anything, but we need to repair.”
It seems they have been doing work to “repair” and strengthen their friendship again. People points out that Brian, Tyler, and their wives vacationed together as recently as a few weeks ago. Brian’s wife, Brittney Kelley, shared several photos with the Hubbards during a February trip to Idaho, but it’s her caption that is most telling about what went on behind the scenes.
“Proof that God’s timing is always better than ours,” she notes. “This week was about healing, laughter, and remembering the ‘why’ that brought us together in the first place.”
Responding to her in the comments section, Tyler adds that Jesus was “busy” in Idaho and that “those three days were so special. Love y’all and loved every minute of our time together.”
At this time, there’s nothing to indicate Florida Georgia Line will make a formal resurgence as a duo, but this pop-up performance gives fans hope that it’s at least a possibility.
