- Ella Langley joined Morgan Wallen for his stadium tour in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
- Ella performed a set of her hits before Morgan took the stage.
- The “Choosin’ Texas” singer later joined Morgan during his encore to debut a brand-new duet.
Saturday proved to be a historic night at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with more than 80,000 fans in attendance for Morgan Wallen’s “I’m Still the Problem” tour. It was the first time in more than 30 years that the storied football venue hosted a concert, and it proved to be an unforgettable event for country music fans.
Before Morgan took the stage for a marathon set of his hits, joined for the walkout by Alabama football legend Nick Saban, the crowd was treated to music by Zach John King, Vincent Mason, and Ella Langley.
Ella, an Alabama native, seemed emotional as she took in the scene. She performed a lineup of songs from her first album, plus several tunes from new release Dandelion. She went solo for a cheeky version of “You Look Like You Love Me,” her duet with Riley Green, and wrapped up with “Choosin’ Texas” and “Weren’t for the Wind.”
After Morgan performed for two hours, he popped back out for an encore, and Ella returned to the stage for a surprise duet with the “Last Night” singer—one that the crowd had never heard before.
In past concerts, Ella has joined Morgan to sing “What I Want,” his duet with Tate McRae. But they mixed things up for the Tuscaloosa crowd. Morgan told fans in attendance that Ella wrote the new song, and Ella revealed that it will be released this Friday, April 24.
“Ella wrote this song and sent it to me about a month ago, and I loved it the second I heard it,” Morgan said. Ella’s fans will note that the song, “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” seems to solve a major Easter egg from her “Choosin’ Texas” music video.
At the end of the video, which has a whopping 16 million views on YouTube, Ella drives off in a van with Miranda Lambert after leaving Luke Grimes behind at a bar. The license plate reads “ICLYA.”
Mystery solved! Morgan and Ella are two of the most popular country stars right now, and we can only imagine how huge this song will be.
