Wreaths, lanterns and dried oranges are among the most popular Christmas interior trends on Pinterest, new research has found.

The interior experts at WeThrift used Pinterest data over the past 12 months to see which trends we will all be adding to our inspiration boards ahead of the festive season – and we're not surprised by the results.

Window displays took the top spot, with a whopping 4,000% search increase. Whether you prefer to keep things classic or want to impress neighbours with a dazzling display, Christmas window decorations are perfect to get your home feeling festive from the inside out.

"These delightful little fellows have bushy beards that cover most of their face, a pointed hat pulled over their eyes and a sweet button nose," say WeThrift, speaking about Gonks. "While many are dressed in traditional festive colours, red, white and green, you can find them wearing all sorts of colours to match your home interior."
