• Castle Impossible was a big hit with HGTV fans.
  • The series is officially returning for season 2 on May 26.
  • Daphne and Ian Fig face more challenges as they renovate a 500-year-old chateau in France.

The first season of Castle Impossible was a major success for HGTV, bringing in more than 14 million viewers. The last episode aired almost a year ago, and now Daphne and Ian Fig are finally returning to chronicle more of their château renovating adventures.

Need a refresher? Daphne inherited 500-year-old Château de Lesigny from her grandfather, and she and her husband Ian have been working room by room to make the property livable and well suited for their wedding business.

The eight-episode second season will premiere on May 26 and will find the couple working on a tea salon, library, dungeon salon, and honeymoon suite. The gatehouse will become a home for Daphne’s beloved grandmother.

If you watched season one, you will know to expect some serious challenges (we’re talking water leaks, budget concerns, mold, and fungus), but we anticipate the couple will handle any setbacks with their trademark unflappable charm.

Daphne and Ian shared the good news on their Instagram account and were met with more than a thousand enthusiastic messages from their fans. One wrote, “I’ve been watching for the show to come back! Loved the first season,” and another commented, “OMG!!! Putting this on our calendar! It’s a show my whole family loves to watch together!! We are all so excited for it! ❤️” “So glad it wasn’t canceled like all my other favorite shows,” another said. One enthusiastic viewer wrote, “Screaming in happiness right now!! ❤️👏 best decision.”

Daphne and Ian have a typically active YouTube channel called The Beau Chateau, but one fan noticed that she had been missing their videos. “I'm so excited. Can't wait. But I do miss seeing you on YouTube,” she wrote. Daphne and Ian offered reassurances: “YouTube will be back soon as well! We have been super busy with these exciting new projects for season 2 🥰”

The countdown is officially on! The first episode airs on HGTV on Tuesday, May 26, at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST and streams the next day on HBO Max.
